Q: What is Halotherapy?

A: Salt therapy, aka Halotherapy, is an alternative treatment for a wide variety of ailments and conditions: asthma, allergies, anxiety, inflammation, skin issues, and even the common cold. The salt is naturally anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal, and antimicrobial. The treatment offers a unique, natural therapy that allows you to get a sense of peace and serenity, while simply breathing. The salt air is made up of negatively-charged ionized salt particles, 84 trace elements and minerals such as calcium, potassium, magnesium, sodium, iodine, bromine, copper, selenium, and iron. These particles help to clear all pollens, viruses, pollutants and toxins of the lungs and nasal passageways, which in essence works to treat and prevent illness. The salt also works to heal the body as soon as its negative ions enter the nasal passageway, which then travel through the respiratory tract and into the bloodstream to be dispersed throughout the body.

Q: What does a session entail?

A: We offer two session types: Salt Therapy Sessions and Healer-led sessions. Salt Therapy Sessions are 45-minutes inside the Cave, clients relax in zero-gravity chairs inside a dimly lit environment. Meditation music plays to quiet your mind, while the twinkling lights above and the beautiful salt fireplace help you feel comfy and cozy. Depending on the location, our large Caves offer up to 13 zero-gravity chairs while the Private Cave is more beach-style where you relax on the salt as if you were laying on the sand at the beach (you can lay on a blanket)!

Healer-led sessions are guided by a trained Healer or Practitioner (or sometimes two) and are 45-minutes long. Sit back, relax, and breathe!

Q: Where does the salt come from?

A: Himalayan Pink Salt is imported from the Punjab, Pakistan region of the Himalayan mountains. It is said to be leftover from the primordial sea, which left behind the salt deposits as it evaporated.

Q: What do I wear inside the Cave?

A: For sanitary reasons, socks are required in all Caves. You have the freedom to wear whatever you would like inside the Cave, but we recommend dressing comfortably. The only requirement is that each person removes their shoes.

Q: Is the Cave hot like a sauna?

A: The Cave is very carefully temperature controlled to maintain the best environment for the salt. The temperate usually falls between 68 and 70 degrees, so if you tend to run cold, you may want to consider dressing a bit warmer. We offer blankets for extra coziness and comfort.
